3D Systems Opens New Industrial Technology Center in Colorado, Expanding U.S. Capacity

3D Systems has opened a new Industrial Technology Center in Littleton, Colorado, adding about 50,000 square feet of office and production space and bringing its total manufacturing capacity across the U.S. and Europe to roughly 250,000 square feet. According to a 3DPrint report on November 5, the company said the site strengthens domestic production capabilities for the aerospace, defense and semiconductor industries.

Per the disclosure, the facility maintains the registrations and certifications required to support regulated, mission-critical applications, including ISO 9001 and AS9100D certification and ITAR registration. The Littleton campus will act as a strategic customer hub, drawing on the company's additive manufacturing hardware, software, materials and application engineering expertise to help customers move from development to qualified production. President and CEO Jeffrey Graves said validated facilities, certified quality systems, advanced application expertise and scalable production capacity position the company to help customers move from concept to qualified production faster and with less risk, while strengthening the resilience of critical American manufacturing supply chains.

The opening drew local and federal officials, including U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper and U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen. Headquartered in Rock Hill, South Carolina, 3D Systems' expansion is consistent with its recent emphasis on U.S.-based operations.
